WASTE RECEPTACLES
WITH AN ADDED PURPOSE
THE BLASTBUSTER RECEPTACLE IS DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED TO ASSIST IN CONTROLLING THE FLOW OF A BOMB BLAST IN A VERTICAL DIRECTION, AWAY FROM ITS INTENDED VICTIMS, WHILE STILL SERVING AS A WASTE RECEPTACLE
The BLASTBUSTER will significantly improve the likelihood of surviving (with less physical trauma) a terrorist bomb placed in a public waste receptacle. For those who are trained to recognize the nature of suspect packages, BLASTBUSTER can also become an optional, temporary disposal unit until help arrives. Because of the weight and density of BLASTBUSTER, it can also function as a barricade for crowd control, as well as a waste receptacle.
The BLASTBUSTER container itself will probably not become a part of the projectiles as a result of the explosion created within, as a standard container would. This unit has been severely tested and witnessed by State and Federal law enforcement personnel with a simultaneous detonation of both a grenade and C-4 plastique. The unit never failed to perform as intended. The blasts were contained to a vertical direction with no lateral damage.
The BLASTBUSTER is specially designed of compressed and reinforced media, surrounded on the bottom and sides by heavy gauge steel, which is powder coated for extra weatherability in two (2) primary, textured coatings (beige pebblestone or blue granite). It uses standard, disposable 30 gallon plastic trash bags.
